The Arboretum in Novosibirsk is an amazing place where nature and city life meet, creating ideal conditions for relaxation and walks. Situated in the Zaeltsovsky district on Zhukovsky Street, this natural oasis attracts both city dwellers and tourists. An important ecological zone protected by the authorities, and a real gift for nature lovers.
History and development of the park
The arboretum was founded in 1946 as the Central Botanical Garden, part of the West Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since then, thousands of plant species have been grown on its territory, including rare ones and those listed in the Red Book. In 1997, the park received the status of a natural monument of regional significance, and in 2013 it was transferred to the jurisdiction of the forestry department, which allowed its improvement to be resumed. Today, the arboretum is not only a natural treasure, but also a place for environmental education, educational events and scientific research.

Natural beauty and diversity of flora
The arboretum occupies more than 166 hectares and boasts an incredible diversity of plants. Both local species of trees and shrubs and exotic species from different parts of the world – Japan, North America and Europe – grow here. Particular attention should be paid to rare specimens that can be found in the Red Book.
Walks in the park are especially beautiful in the spring and autumn, when nature reveals all its colors.
Leisure and recreational opportunities
The park is equipped with comfortable paths and gazebos, as well as recreation areas. Here you can have a picnic, enjoy the silence or just stroll among the greenery. Fans of active recreation can come to the park by bike and explore its expanses on two wheels.
Ecological and educational value
The arboretum not only serves as a place of rest, but also plays an important role in improving the ecological situation of the city. It has clean air, which cleanses the city from pollution, and also significantly reduces the noise level. The park serves as an ideal place for educational events on ecology, botany and nature conservation, and is also a platform for scientific research.
