The A.M. Katz State Concert Hall, located in the very center of Novosibirsk, is an important cultural venue for the city. Opened in 2013, it was specially built to host classical music concerts and became the first venue of such capacity in the history of Novosibirsk. The hall is designed for 965 spectators and is equipped with modern sound equipment, which allows for holding musical events of the highest quality. In addition to the main hall, the concert complex has a round stage and a concert hall, as well as a museum dedicated to the founder of the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, Arnold Katz.
History and architecture
The A.M. Katz Hall became part of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, which was founded in 1937 and has a rich history. In 1956, the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra was created, which has since occupied an important place in the cultural life of the city and the country. The hall was built on the site of the old concert hall, which was closed for reconstruction in 2008. After completion of construction in 2013, the new concert hall became the main venue for philharmonic groups, as well as for holding international musical events.

Concert activities and repertoire
The Katz State Concert Hall is a venue for not only large symphony concerts, but also chamber performances, children’s programs, literary and musical evenings, and theater productions. The round stage seats up to 200 people and is ideal for chamber programs and small concerts. For connoisseurs of academic music, performances by famous performers, as well as tours of foreign orchestras and soloists, are regularly held here. The foyer on the second floor hosts exhibitions and master classes.
Museum named after A.M. Katz
A special place in the concert hall is occupied by the Arnold Katz Museum, which opens an hour before the concert and closes after the intermission. Here you can see the maestro’s personal belongings, photographs, archival materials and video recordings of his performances. The museum is an integral part of the cultural program and helps visitors better understand Katz’s contribution to the development of symphonic music in Novosibirsk and Russia.

Accessibility and comfort for spectators
The concert hall has everything necessary for the comfort of the audience, including places for people with disabilities. The hall has a modern acoustic system, which makes each piece of music ideal for perception. There are also facilities for children, for whom the Philharmonic holds special children’s programs, operas and concerts.
Internet broadcasts and online resources
For those who cannot attend the concert, the Philharmonic provides the opportunity for online broadcasting on its official website. Also on the website you can find recordings of past concerts, which allows you to enjoy music at any time. This makes the cultural heritage of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic accessible to viewers around the world.

Tickets for concerts can be purchased at box offices located in different places in the city, as well as online on the official website of the Philharmonic. There are discounts for students, and you can also buy season tickets that give you the right to attend several concerts during the season.
